Error during design

I have the files from my customer and when I start design and pick a point to place an amp I get this error:

MDL abort in DB4LDDLM
MDL abort in SERVER
MDL abort in dsndlg.mc at line 5949


What am I doing wrong?

I am still having this error when placing equipment:

MDL detected a bad pointer passed to "free".
MDL abort in DB4LDDLM
MDL abort in SERVER
MDL abort in dsndlg.mc at line 5949

It is now crunch time and I need to get the software up and running. Any ideas about the cause?
